It’s more of a coincidence that ever since Big Brother Hotshots started 27 days ago, no sitting HoH has ever won the much coveted Extravaganza presentations normally staged on Saturdays with the winner being announced on Sunday shortly after the infamous evictions.
Week 1 saw ex-Hotshot Laveda becoming the
first ever HoH of the season, apart from helping her fellow housemates
bag their very first Wager, she failed to land the first Extravaganza.
Many attributed her team’s loss to the fights that engulfed her team
allegedly fueled by JJ and Sabina.
The fact that she chose her team also made the other housemates she
didn’t pick gain popular among the voting population which happens to be
fans of the show.
Week 2 saw another lady in Samantha
deservedly taking over from Laveda. The South African also bagged the
second Wager of the season but just like her predecessor, she
hand-picked her team which was beaten hands down by the “under-dogs.”
As if Africa hadn’t seen enough of the HoH’s team losing an Extravaganza, the third week saw Nhlanhla
succeeding country mate Samantha at helm. He however wasn’t any lucky
like the ladies as he didn’t bag either of the two (Wager and
Extravaganza).
It’s now week 4 and another Extravaganza
is at hand with JJ hoping to break the jinx and be the first ever HoH to
win an it, will he bag it for Team A? Time will tell. Unlike Nhlanhla,
JJ helped the house bag their third Wager victory of the season. He
however wasn’t given the pleasure of picking his own team after Biggie
came up with a new twist, something that seems to have been welcomed by
not only the Hotshots but also Africa.
It seems Africa has in the past few weeks been voting for the “under dogs” (reasoning that since the HoH didn’t pick them, we shall have their backs)
and we must say Africa has seen the success of their hard work (via
voting). The other criteria that is most probably used to vote for the
winner is by who belongs to which team, as long as someone’s favourite
is on a certain team, they’ll be assured of support because they’ve to
stay in that house (by default, so we think), this seems to have denied
the aspect of entertainment to play a part on this whole scenario.
Long story short, Africa is definitely
looking forward to the fourth Extravaganza of the season, hopefully
history is made this evening.
Are you looking forward to seeing a HoH
win an Extravaganza tonight or are are you still going for your
favourite housemate irrespective of the team’s performance?
